At Holding Hands, we believe in empowering women to reach their full potential. We provide employment opportunities and vocational training, promote women's small-scale industries, and organize various counseling camps, training sessions, and workshops to highlight their talents. We've established employment centers for women in Pune and Aurangabad and have trained women in slum areas.
We actively foster an environment where women are respected and feel safe. We prioritize addressing women's issues and have intentionally given most of the leadership roles to females. This approach has helped us become a close-knit "family" where women thrive and lead.
We are committed to protecting the environment for future generations. Our initiatives include establishing small forests, regularly conducting cleanliness campaigns, and organizing guidance camps on waste management.
Holding Hands works to promote the rich cultural heritage of our state. We encourage the hidden talent of youth in both rural and urban areas by organizing state-level drama and one-act play competitions. We also honor folk artists, run drama film workshops and camps, and organize short film and film festivals to preserve and promote folk arts.
We believe in the power of education. Holding Hands distributes study materials to needy and poor students deprived of schooling. We also offer financial assistance to meritorious students who are unable to pursue opportunities due to financial constraints and provide free guidance for competitive examinations. Additionally, we run the International Contest Ethics and Values Education program and organize painting competitions and intellectual development camps for children. We also work to train and provide employment to youth.
Our commitment to health includes organizing free health check-up camps in villages and urban slums. We raise awareness about diseases like TB, cancer, and AIDS, and organize blood donation camps. Doctors provide free health guidance through various seminars, and in emergencies, we assist patients by communicating with doctors.
Our core philosophy, "Holding Hands means holding each other's hands," guides our work. We aim to connect as many people as possible, believing that human problems are best solved collectively. By forming a "human chain," we foster a supportive community where people walk together through happiness and sorrow, elevating their social, intellectual, economical, educational, and cultural levels for a healthy and happy journey.
Our efforts to connect people have allowed us to expand significantly. We have active branches in Maharashtra and Punjab, with recent expansions into Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, and Karnataka. Our work has even reached the border of Pakistan, and we've been recognized by organizations outside India, including one in Japan.
We are deeply committed to social harmony and humanitarian efforts. Our organization works to maintain humanity beyond discrimination of religion, caste, gender, language, and region. We organize seminars to promote social harmony and intellectual development across various aspects of human life. We've also been crucial in emergency situations, providing essential goods and medicines during floods (like in Sangli-Kolhapur) and distributing food grains during the Corona pandemic. We also offered a free telephone consultation service during the lockdown, which continues to assist people from both within and outside the state. We even honor those who undertake inter-caste and inter-religious marriages to encourage social cohesion.
